Generally there are two main types of plastic moulds such as thermo-sets and thermoplastics. Due to the types of polymers forming such type of plastics they are quite different from each other. The thermoplastics melt at high temperature while thermo-sets harden up at high temperature. There are distinguished processes that are used for shaping or making plastic mold, using the combination of both the plastics or else either of them. We usually hear those processes; extrusion, injection molding and blowing molding (combination of both the plastics) but don’t have proper knowledge about what exactly happens in the whole process.
Here we go with a detailed discussion about what exactly a reliable plastic mould supplier does:
Films, sheets and pipes are done using extrusion. In “extrusion molding” raw materials like powder, pellets and beads are used. Here plastic is put into extruder (revolving chamber) in order to melt and form into desired shapes. Then the finished product is dropped on to a conveyer belt to cool with water. Finally finishing touches are given to it.
In order to make bottle caps, toys, butter containers etc another famous process is used that is commonly known as “injection molding”. Here in this process raw plastic is fed into the melting chamber through a hopper. Then the melted plastic is put into cold, old with high pressure.
Last but not the least; blow molding is another process where blowing method is used after injection molding. Compressed air is blown through the tube so as to force the plastic to make a hallow shape inside. This method removes the need to attach different injection-molded parts by the manufacturers.
With relevant features and technologies “Ming-Li” has come forward to manufacture high quality industrial molds and has proven itself to be the number one plastic mold supplier of Taiwan in a very short time span.
